Osuofia ‘resurrects’!

O’jez, the entertainment hangout in Surulere, Lagos, almost turned upside down last Sunday when the boss of the place, Chief Joseph Odobeatu, decided to honour ‘dead’ actor, Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia.

Remember when it was rumoured that the actor ingested hard drugs that erupted in his belly in Morroco? Remember when it was also rumoured that the actor was beheaded in Saudi Arabia when he was caught in possession of hard drugs? Some even said they were there when Osuofia was buried alive in Russia when he was caught with hard drugs.

Anyway, last Sunday in Lagos, the actor finally put the rumour mongers to shame as he stormed O’jez.

But then, the event was scheduled to hold by 6pm, Osuofia did not come until 8pm. You can then imagine how tensed the auditorium was while the ‘wait’ lasted.

While Odobeatu and Actors Guild of Nigeria’s President, Ejike Asiegbu were busy making calls to find out if the actor would come, some other guests were busy claiming that the whole thing was a farce and that the actor was actually dead.

But when Osuofia landed, it was fun galore. Clicks of camera were heard from all corners and those with camera phones scrambled to take pictures of the comic actor.

The actor said he was alive and his God has added more 20 years to his life span.

He thrilled guest with his song, I Go Chop Your Dollar and people danced…
